About Dr. Vikas Goyal

Dr Vikas Goyal is a Clinical Haematologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician, currently practising at the SCCH Hematology Centre in Raipur. He completed his MBBS from MGM Medical College Indore and MD ( Medicine) from GR Medical College in Gwalior, in 2003 and 2006 respectively. Later, he underwent superspeciality training for three years DM in clinical haematology from KEM Hospital Mumbai and further bone marrow transplant training at the ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre , Mumbai..

Dr. Goyal worked to develop comprehensive haematology care in the city of Raipur, which earlier lacked such facilities. He made the effort to develop and train a team of doctors and nurses in haematology patient care, and also put in place the requisite infrastructure at the scch Hematology Centre. He helped set up the hematology lab, neutropenia care , day care ward for chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsy facility, etc. The SCCH Hematology Centre is recognised by the Max Foundation for enrolment of CML patients under the GPAP scheme.

Dr. Goyal is well versed in all aspects of haematology such as haematological malignancy, and benign haematological disorders requiring long term management, including thalassemia, sickle cell disease, AIHA, MDS, aplastic anaemia, ITP, haemophilia, DVT, PE, etc. He is also familiar with procedures dealing with Hodgkin's lymphoma, CLL, chronic lymphoproliferative disorders, multiple myeloma, immunosuppressant therapy, and neutropenic patients, as well as bone marrow transplant procedures such as aspiration and biopsy, partial exchange transfusion,intrathecal chemotherapy and central venous catheterisation.

Dr. Vikas Goyal has participated as faculty at various national meets of bodies such as the Association of Physicians, ISHBT, etc, and regularly lectures at Haematology CMEs. He has also been regularly involved in mass education programmes through the print media and medical camps.. These event ensures that various medical fraternities are exposed to the field of haematology.
